Manager EMEA REACH & Chemical Management

To join their global regulatory organization at their Zwijndrecht location. This is a very visible, significant role within the REACH and regulatory affairs function. This position will report to the Global Director Regulatory Affairs.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop strategies to ensure the company’s production activities comply with government regulations. Serves as a liaison between regulatory bodies and operating divisions of the company. Manage product registration applications and reports to applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Leadership of the EMEA regulatory team to ensure regulatory compliance of products supplied in the EMEA region with applicable regulations including REACH, UK-REACH, KKDIK, Ukraine REACH, CLP, CPR, MPR, BPR, MDR, PPPR, Food law, Feed law, etc.), monitoring of the regulations, assessing updates and communicating impact and implementation plans to senior management
  • Identify and manage resolution to routine and complex issues including regulatory risk and provide risk/benefit strategies.
  • Navigate the people and processes of their commercial, manufacturing and supply chain
    organizations as well as the external landscape of regulatory agencies (ECHA, EFSA, EMA, European Commission, etc) and industry groups (CEFIC, IPEC, ICA, EFFCI, etc) to advocate on behalf of our client.
  • Develop regulatory goals and objectives in alignment with the business strategy of our client.
  • Actively participate with Research & Development (R&D) as a regulatory champion in our client’s INNOVA process for developing, piloting and scaling-up new products under the new platforms of our client.
  • Project Management of REACH and regulatory projects.
  • Supporting regulatory educational/training presentations and webinars.
  • Participate in customer meetings as required by EMEA commercial team, to provide regulatory guidance, positions and support.
  • Provide support and coordinate any other global regulatory tasks based on customers and
    commercial team request.

To be qualified for this role, you mUst possess the following:

  • Thorough knowledge of Global REACH, chemical management and product regulations, enforcement and industry practice relevant to the Life Sciences, Personal Care and Specialty Additives industry
  • 10 years of REACH and Product Regulatory relevant experience working with regulatory agencies
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in chemistry, toxicology, biology or other science discipline
  • Use/familiar with the following databases and websites: PCPC/INCI, CAS applications, ToxPlanet, SciFinder, Cosmos/Ecocert, use of SAP
  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
  • The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
  • To be eligible to apply candidates must reside in either Netherlands or Poland
